  1. Let me start. My name is Stephen Pellerine and I am from Halifax, Nova Scotia. Halifax is a beautiful seaside city on the east coast of Canada. It has a similar population to Ras Al Khaimah, but has a slightly more modern feel to it. It is a cozy town and hope one day you get a chance to visit here.

I have many interests, and let me tell you about three; study, travel, and photography.

I love to study and enjoy learning about learning. I like to read about the cognitive sciences, and learn more about how people learn. I have always been interested in the brain and memory. My undergraduate degree was in psychology (a double major in geography), and my first masters degree was in language acquisition – focusing on the kinds and dimensions of memory that we as humans have. I am currently studying for a second masters and have just completed a great course on cognition and learning.

Travel is also a great hobby of mine, I have visited; America (about 38 states), Australia, Canada, China, Hong Kong, India (2 times), Japan (8+ years), Korea (3 times), Mongolia (2 times), Nepal, North Korea (border), Oman (4 times), Qatar, Tanzania (1 year), Thailand, Singapore (2 times), United Arab Emirates, Uganda (quick stop), and the United Kingdom (3 times).

Photography is also a passion I have and this relates to the interest I mentioned above, photography. I love to go to foreign countries and take photos of different places. I have had exhibitions in Japan, and Mongolia. I have had my images published in Spain, Russia, Canada, Japan, and the UAE. I have received two professional certificates in photography from the New York Institute of Photography. The first is a “general certificate” and the second is a certificate in “Dance and Stage Photography”.

I have many other interests that I would like to share with you, but for now – I would like to hear from you. Please, open a word document and compose a writing like this one you are reading here. This one is about 400 words in length. Be sure to break your writing with paragraphs as you see here. Basically, one paragraph describes one idea, and the introduction should tell the reader what they will read about.

You will get better at this as you will be doing a lot of it, so enjoy.
